Cast

Evelyn Jane Wohlbier (Calypso) is a devised theatre artist fresh to the Chicago theatre scene, a proud ensemble member of the Chicago Playback Theatre Ensemble, and an emerging Intimacy Director currently earning her graduate certificate in Intimacy at The Theatre School at DePaul University. Recent shows include: "Infinity Burns" (2025) at A Red Orchid Theatre, "HAIR" (2023) and "I Think of You: Illuminating Mass Incarceration from Inside Out" (2023) at Portland Center Stage, "Fruit Bowl" (2023) and "RENT" (2022) at Fir Acres Theatre. She gives special thanks to her Dad, John Wohlbier, for teaching her how to play the mandolin all those years ago!

Emma Mansfield (Hermes) is thrilled to be working on Calypso with The Village Theater! Relatively new to the city, Emma graduated from Northern Illinois University's BFA program in Acting. Recent credits include Hot People Island (Corn Productions), Macbeth (Production Productions), King Lear and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Kingsman Shakespeare Company), and a summer spent touring with Missoula Children's Theatre.

Riley Lucas (Odysseus) is thrilled to be originating the role of Odysseus and making his Village Theater debut in the world premiere of Calypso. He would like to thank his family and friends for their constant support. Chicago Theatre credits: Grimm (Theatre Above the Law), MADEAMADEAMADEA (Theatre Evolve), Twisted Playfest (Redtwist Theatre), and The Normal Heart (Redtwist Theatre). He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2022 with an MFA in Acting and Directing and has been based in Chicago ever since.

Understudy Cast

Olivia Gregorich (Calypso understudy) is a storyteller, songwriter, thunderstorm-dancer, and wannabe dryad from the woods of Wisconsin. Over the summer, she performed with the Olde School Shakespeare Collective (Julius Caesar) and provided outreach as the partnerships coordinator for the Wender Collective (REMNANTS). She has served as a literary intern at Writer’s Theater and spent several summers with the Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford, CT, ranging from student to resident artist to administrator. Olivia has also produced a local installment of the Climate Change Theater Action project and served several years as artistic facilitator for a recurring eco theater project hosted by a rural art center in her hometown to celebrate stewardship of local waterways. This year, she is also working on recording her debut solo EP as a songwriter. She is very grateful to be working with The Village Theater for the first time, and for all opportunities to gather, make art, and hug friends. @oliviagperforms

Casey McKinney (Odysseus understudy) is an actor from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He studied Theater at Oberlin College in Ohio before moving to Chicago, where he works as a preschool teacher. His past credits include Romeo and Juliet (Romeo), Measure for Measure (Angelo), Long Days' Journey into Night (Edmund), and Cabaret (Cliff). He is thrilled to be working with the Village Theater for the first time!

Rachel Katz (Hermes understudy) is a Chicago-based theatre artist. Her previous credits include Mary in Late a Cowboy Song (Couch Penny Ensemble), Judith in Jane: Abortion and the Underground (Cats Cradle Theatre), and Olivia in Twelfth Night (Illinois State University). When Rachel is not onstage, she can be found costume designing, working on a puzzle, or taking incredibly long walks by the lake.
